Well, I can only sit around so long watching NCIS and eating chocolate!  I guess it’s time to get back to work.  But with all these days off due to snow and ice and furlough days, I guess I can finally prioritize and do the work I want to do first! 

My class has been busy, busy, busy with all things common core this year and it’s that time again…Progress Reports!  

Last weekend I searched for a cute “cat” subtraction activity and after looking and looking, I decided to purchase some clipart and make my own.  I have small buttons for the kids to use, but thought it might also be nice to have some paper buttons to color and laminate and place at a center for practice.

Hello Blog!  

I have missed you so!  Since school has started I have been going non-stop!!!  So after several weeks of doing the “need to” things I took time Friday night to do the “want to” things.  I really needed to do something fun to remind me why I became a teacher! 

For the next two weeks we are focusing on  Christopher Columbus and I now have a super cute bulletin board with our focus words, essential questions, and an eye catching ship ready to set sail on Monday!  Land ho!!!

I have links below to download the vocabulary words, essential questions, and listening center page if you are interested!  The boat was easy to make…I just used the clipart from my listening center page as a guide!  I think I was inspired by some higher power as I cannot draw to save my life!

A Newsletter for every Month!

Happy Friday!

It's hard to say this but SUMMER IS OVER!  We go back July 31st!  I want to go back to the time (I was 8) when summers dragged on for-ev-er!!!  

Oh well, at least I can look back and say I was productive!  I opened up my tpt store and have been busy filling it with items to make teacher's lives easier...and, okay, cuter because I love cute stuff!

Reknrek 101

Our school has encouraged us to use reknreks this year.  I found a great link to share to help you get started if you are like me and not quite sure of all the possible ways to present this to the kids.  This link includes beginning lessons for K-2...very informative!
